Direct-to-Film (DTF) complete system for professional textile finishing. Built for maximum efficiency, repeatable premium quality and high volumes in continuous operation.

Perfect workflow

Print → powder → dry → transfer. Perfectly matched to our pneumatic dual heat presses for brilliant results.

  • Dual Epson I3200 print heads for extremely fast, high-resolution 6-pass prints (up to 8 m²/h).
  • Fully automatic powder system with infrared drying and efficient recovery.
  • Intelligent ink system (CMYK + white) with vacuum feed for continuous, bubble-free flow.
  • Gigabit data transfer & Maintop 6.1 RIP software for highest precision.
Technology

The Direct-to-Film process

The design is printed onto a special film, coated with adhesive powder and, after the powder is melted, fixed onto textiles like a transfer.

1. Precision printing

High-resolution film laydown with fine colour matching. CMYK + opaque white for vibrant results on cotton, polyester and blends.

2. Powder & curing

Fully automatic, even powdering with hot-melt adhesive and subsequent infrared drying. Key to perfect hand feel and extreme wash fastness.

3. Transfer & finish

The finished film is pressed onto the textile on the heat press at exact pressure and temperature – ideally with our pneumatic presses.

Specifications

What are the specifications of the Kegema KG 602DTF?

The Kegema KG 602DTF is a complete direct-to-film system with two Epson I3200 print heads running PET film up to 600 mm media width. It prints roughly 8 m²/h in 6-pass mode using DTF pigment ink (CMYK + white) from 800 ml tanks, with triple drying in the printer and infrared drying in the powder unit.

How much floor space and what power supply does a DTF printing system need?

The Kegema KG 602DTF is a two-unit system: the printer and the powder/drying unit are installed side by side, so the required footprint is the sum of both units plus operating and service clearance. The printer measures 1365 × 535 × 470 mm; the manufacturer's figure carries the additional note +200 mm. The powder unit measures 720 × 840 × 970 mm. Both units run on 110–220 V at 50/60 Hz. The printer draws 1300 W and the powder unit 2800 W, giving 4100 W when both run at the same time. The powder and drying unit is clearly the larger load of the two.

For delivery planning it is the crate dimensions that matter, not the installed footprint: the printer ships at 1500 × 735 × 655 mm, the powder unit at 1190 × 930 × 1110 mm. At a gross weight of 100 kg (printer) and 117 kg (powder unit), check the delivery route, door widths and floor load rating before the machine arrives.

Which materials does the Kegema KG 602DTF process, and at what width?

The Kegema KG 602DTF prints onto PET film as a carrier medium, not onto the garment itself. Maximum media width is 600 mm, which also caps the artwork width per web at 600 mm; wider designs have to be split and applied in several transfers. The machine runs DTF pigment ink in CMYK plus white.

Print height is adjustable from 0 to 12 mm, with 1,8 mm specified by the manufacturer for normal operation. The headroom is useful across different film thicknesses and roll conditions: too much clearance costs edge sharpness, too little raises the risk of head strikes on wavy material.

Material runs roll to roll. The 15R high-speed feed and take-up system pulls the film in and rewinds it after drying. In production that means longer unattended web runs without manual reloading, plus a controlled film tension, which matters for registration between the colour and white layers.

What output does the machine achieve per hour?

In 6-pass mode with its two EPSON I3200 printheads, the manufacturer rates the Kegema KG 602DTF at 8 m²/h. At the full 600 mm web width that works out to roughly 13 linear metres of film per hour. Real throughput depends on ink coverage, the amount of white and the pass mode selected; 6-pass is the manufacturer's reference setting.

What matters in daily production is that printing, powdering and drying happen in a single pass through the line. The printer applies three drying stages, and the attached powder unit applies the adhesive and cures it with infrared. There is no manual handling of the web between the print and powder stations.

Ink is supplied from 800 ml tanks with a negative-pressure system, which extends refill intervals and keeps ink flow stable. Adhesive powder that does not stick is returned to the circuit by the powder recycling function.

Which components are built in, and why do they matter?

On the Kegema KG 602DTF, the core components determine repeatability and service life in continuous operation. Two points are particularly critical in Direct-to-Film: the white ink, whose pigments tend to settle, and even powder application, which governs the hand feel and wash resistance of the transfer. Both are addressed in hardware – through the intelligent white ink circulation and the integrated powder and drying unit – rather than through operator routines.

Which applications is the system suited to, and which not?

The Kegema KG 602DTF is built for textile decoration via Direct-to-Film transfer up to 600 mm artwork width, and it assumes a heat press as the downstream station. The line does not produce a finished garment but the powdered, cured transfer film; fixing happens in the press.

Suited to:

  • Multi-colour artwork with opaque white, printed in DTF pigment ink, CMYK + white
  • Changing small and mid-size runs with no per-design tooling cost
  • Shops that already run a heat press or plan to add one
  • Continuous roll-fed production via the 15R feed and take-up system

Not suited to:

  • Artwork wider than 600 mm without splitting it across several webs
  • Printing directly onto fabric – the system prints PET film only
  • Sublimation work – the machine runs DTF pigment ink
  • Workspaces without a heat press or without room for two units weighing 100 kg and 117 kg

Which sizes and variants are available?

The manufacturer documentation available to us covers exactly one size: the KEGEMA KG 602DTF, with 600 mm maximum media width, two EPSON I3200 printheads and a matched powder and drying unit. Web width is the defining specification, because it limits artwork width and area output together: the 8 m²/h figure in 6-pass mode refers to this 600 mm. Heat press for the perfect finish

DTF printing alone is not enough – transfer on the press determines quality and wash fastness. Our pneumatic dual heat presses are built exactly for that.
